It's been two months since we lost our beloved sugar cat, Tisha. We just adopted two adorable tuxedo kittens. We are looking for good names. Any suggestions?

Also, the boy keeps trying to nurse on the girl. The girl trise to bite my fingers and thumbs. I suspect she isaid trying to nurse too. Anybody know how to address this behavior?

Watch them carefully when you interact; they may give warning signs when about to chomp on you.
Always stop touching before they become overstimulated; it leaves them wanting more.

How about Michael and Madison. Just a thought. They are adorable! It looks like these cuties are going to be a lot of fun. Congratulations!

How about Fred and Ginger ...as in Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers...famous black and white movie dancers

Humphrey and Ingrid (Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from Casablanca

Clark and Claudette (Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert from It Happened One Night)

Absolutely gorgeous! No idea how to stop the nursing. Marshmallow still sometimes nurses on my arm when she's kneading me (13 years later...).

My kitties have a tendency to be named after food so if these were mine, I'd probably call them Cadbury and Toblerone. :)

Or Bourneville and Milky Bar?

(I'll get me coat ...)

My cousin has a dog named Crunchie and a cat named KitKat. Her sister has 3 dogs: Snickers, Jelly Bean, and Razzle (which is an American hard candy; after you chew it, it transforms into chewing gum. Not delicious but okay for a name :)). Previous dogs were Hershey, Oreo, and Toffee.

I've had Cinnamon and Marshmallow. Yes, I guess we like food names.:woot:

Oooh, do you drink tea? How about Darjeeling and Earl? As in Earl Grey, but since he's not grey you could just go with Earl.

They are so cute!! How about Tux(ie) & Trish(a)? Kit and Kat? Bonnie and Clyde? Minnie and Mickey? Coco & Chanel? Nick & Nora? (characters from the "Thin Man" series)

We had sister/brother cats Romeo & Juliet who looked a lot like these, though Juliet had longer fur. She became known as the "Pretty, Pretty Princess".

You'd think with cats named Bojangles and Waimea that I'm more creative, but they both came to me already named. I adoped Bojangles at 4 years old (she's now 14) from a lady I used to house/pet sit for. Bojangles was moving in to her house and didn't play well with her kitties, so I took her in as I was just moving into my new house. I think she's named after the Bojangles chain of restaurants as a college age girl named her.

With Waimea, I was a sucker. I saw her on the humane society's website about 1.5 years ago. She was 11 (so "elderly"), black & blind and had three strikes against her. In her 1.5 years at the humane society, I was the first to even ask about her. Poor baby. I had to have her! She has her own room at the house.
(Waimea's adoption video - explains why she's blind). Coincidentally, the day Bojangles moved in, one of my volunteers played Mr. Bojangles on the piano (not knowing about her) and asked me if I knew the song (I didn't), so I knew it was meant to be. When I was considering adopting Waimea, one of my volunteers was in Hawaii right near the town of Waimea, so that was meant to be too.

We've adopted a couple of litter mates twice now. We started thinking of historical couple's names, but decided that giving siblings the names of lovers was a little strange. We wound up with Max and Maggie. Then Erik and Emme. Our first cat family (not litter mates) had food names - Carrot and Cauliflower. I guess we are into alliteration!

:) My sister named Romeo - you can't have a Romeo without a Juliet.

We also had a Sylvester (ala Looney Tunes Cartoons Cat).

Thank you for sharing Waimea's story. She couldn't wish for a better forever person, Marcy. :) I want to give you the biggest hug for loving and saving her. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I also think it's wonderful that the humane society didn't give up on her and that they looked after her until you could find her. :)

.

Ferdinand and Isabella?

(I also thought of Mork and Mindy, but those names are way too commonplace for such beautiful kittens.)

I WILL one day be the crazy cat lady with 32 cats! I'm very fortunate to have her too. She is a love-bug. I'm glad the local shelter cared for her for so long and took the chance on her surgery! Bojangles is not as happy about it as I am, but that's one of the reason's Waimea has her own room.

Are they literary kittehs? Hamlet and Ophelia?

Do they enjoy folk music? Dylan and Joni (Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell)?

Or perhaps they like rock music better? Mick (Jagger) and Janis (Joplin)?

Bonnie and Clyde?

Anthony and Cleopatra?

Dido and Aeneas?

Apollo and Aphrodite?

Linus and Lucy?

Will and Grace?

If they were rabbits? Starsky and Hutch.

If they were puppies? Mutt and Jeff.

(Or, thinking of running costs, Visa and Mastercard?)

We have tentatively settled on Linus and Lucy. Since she is bossy and the leader while he is shy, it seems to fit their personalities

Well, since I'm a Marcy (though not named after the Peanuts character) with brown hair and used to wear glasses, I love the Peanuts! One of my roommates in college even called me Linus as her sister was also a Marcy and that's what she called her sister. I'd be proud to share the name Linus with a furry bundle of love, just make sure he has a blue blanket to snuggle in!

About the nursing, is Linus trying to nurse in the appropriate place, or is he closer to Lucy's female area? I was fostering some kittens once that were trying nurse on the others female parts, caused an infection.

ETA: They are adorable!
