Kitten chewing - UGH!!!

Ace is about 7 months old. I have not found any baby teeth out of him in several weeks, since late September. He has taken to chewing the 2 sided tape I have stuck on the edges of the couch and chair (to keep him from scratching). I noticed last night that he is also chewing on his nylon tunnel.

He has LOADS of toys, including about 6 chew toys. I am concerned abut him chewing the tape because I don't want him to eat it. I have been spraying Nature's Miracle no scratch on the tape, but he still chews it. What can I do???? He knows he shouldn't do it but he is entranced! And wet now! (water bottle)

It worked great for me. My youngest, Hot Rod, chewed EVERYTHING including blinds and tape, I sprayed a bunch of stuff with that and he stopped. Although now 2 years later he has an obsession with tape. It doesnt matter what kind but he tries to eat it :?

Its funny though because when I was looking for that link it doesnt have good reviews but it worked for me and its cheaper than me replacing blinds lol

I wouldn't worry too much except for the destruction aspect. They are extremely resilient. My two kitties chewed through countless electrical cords in their kittenhood - at least two computer cords, my tv cord and several iPhone cords. By rights they should have electrocuted themselves.

Could you use vinyl carpet runner instead of double stick tape? You know the stuff - about 2' wide, clear vinyl with bumps on the back to hold it down on the carpet. If you put, or tape, it bump side up on the furniture it should discourage scratching. I doubt the kitten will be able to eat it. I buy it by the yard at my local Ace hardware store.

Debby, I might just look into those when I get back from vacation. He has been pretty good about not scratching on the furniture, but I also don't want him scared of me yelling at him (or pointing the squirt bottle at him, I am trying to let him keep his claws). Currently he has 1 claw cap on each front paw (he pulled the others off after a couple of days last week) and most importantly, it keeps him from climbing the screens on my inclosed porch. that is what would really cause him to lose those suckers!

As for the bitter spray, my Cedric liked it, so I was hesitant to try it again. Since I started this thread, Ace has been pretty good. I have several specific chew toys and he was actually chewing on the newest one last night. We'll have to see how it goes. he is such a sweetie....
