Hey guys, I got her first meter on her 2nd day post diagnosis in the middle of a hypo crisis while DH was at home caring for her, so I just did a grab and go. I understand that it's not too fondly looked upon here, had a TrueTrack. Uses too much blood anyways, just bought a relion confirm. Truetrack says 197, relion 155. Either way that's a great number...but what do I do. Same blood sample.
Oh, and BTW... got this in my inbox, my new vet has my SS link and I guess he went on there today to see how she was doing....
"I was looking at your numbers today. It looks really good. I don't know if microdoses of insulin are helping. (They probably won't do any harm either)
Remember you are dealing with a biological organisim plus an instrument that has quite a bit of variance. (as much as +/-60mg/dl)
There are natural variations and rhytems to the blood glucose. As long as the overall trend is downwards it is all o.k. You need to look at each trend segment over an average of at least 3 days. Don't panic.
You are doing really great!"
Say What?!?
