Hi, I'm Karen and this is Motto who I helped rescue - at the last minute - from NYC's Deathrow. He's 14 years old, Diabetic and was owner surrendered by his owner of all those years, - along with his housemate!
I was talking to a lady at the MUST Love Cat's help desk and it was minutes from the deadline (and I really mean DEADLINE!) when they would begin killing cat's on their to be destroyed list, if they hadn't been rescued. When I said I would take him, she said something like "he's Diabetic." I said I was sure I could find someone around where I live to teach me about that. She immediately contacted someone who contacted a few others and almost instantly I was set up with a support network that was going to help me with this Rescue effort. It was great!
SO, now the learning begins!
