Just in case there are others in this area....

Does anyone know of a vet who is at least home testing friendly, if not already a great feline diabetes vet?

I'm still hoping to "convert a vet" but am not going to hold my breath.

What you may find helpful is a Google Map Search like this

to see where some are.

Then call, fax, or write your questions.

Better yet, you might put together a packet of articles on this site, describing the use of home testing in feline diabetes management, and submit them to candidate vets, along with your interest in doing that and see who is interested in a new client. Let the bidding wars begin!

Note: I see the nearest veterinary school is about 2 hours 15 minutes from KC. You might check with them to see if they have some recent graduates in your area.

I have found a vet that is semi friendly to the home testing gig. And I am so new to this whole situation I am essentially begging him for advice and help. The other vet treated me like I was a fool for researching this online... The vet I am feeling may be friendly actually asked me if I'd heard of the "Catkins Diet"! I am in Platte City, MO which is where he is as well. It is Jackson Animal Clinic and Dr. Jackson was fairly receptive to my not wanting to feed Suzie dry cat food.
