Kais Lowest numbers tonight

I think the Lantus is working for Kai. Kai's low number this evening was 190, I had to take it a second time and came up 187. he did eat all his food. do I still give him his normal shot which is 1ui? his numbers usually are around low to middle 200's. Still new to this so any info would help. Thank you!

Hi, will you be able to monitor Kai tonight? If you can, you can go ahead and shoot. I presume the 190 and 187 were before food numbers?

I see from your spreadsheet that there are no tests in the PM cycle. Many cats go lower at night and bounce in the AM cycle. A before-bed test every night would give us a good picture of how Kai is doing on a dose.

We usually tell new to Lantus to not shoot under 200 but you are close. Can you monitor? I see Bhooma typed faster than I did.

Kai has been on Lantus since March. I recently set-up his SS and @Normajean is in the process of putting in all his BG data into it.

If you shoot, and it is a shootable number, start with getting a +2 test tonight.

Kai's number this morning is 171, do I still give him his usual 1ui after feeding? His lowest number so far since switching to lantus

Were you able to decide between the two dosing protocols we follow here? Dosing advice would depend on which protocol you follow.
