Just dosed @ 8pm & 2nd thoughts. Some input requested

Using Prozinc and gave 0.5 dose @ 8pm BG171 Alphatrak meter. I'm following vet's scale but think maybe I should have given a lighter dose. How often, if need be, should I track BG tonight? Please advise?
 
+2.5 hrs BG 209. Had 20 ml Hills ad right after shot
+4 hrs 204.....and small amount of food.
probably ok....

So sorry we weren't around yesterday evening! Sounds like things went okay. A lot of us aren't around late in the evening. If you have an emergency, try posting on health so there will be more eyes.

I checked your SS to see where the numbers went, but it doesn't look like it's been updated in awhile. Everything go okay last night?
 
It went well. I have 2 spread sheets.....one is 3 x daily and 2 x daily. I've been using the 2 x but keeping the 3 x in case I have to switch back and for reference. Poncho's numbers at +2.5 :209, +4: 204 using Alphatrak and +7: 200 using Relion. This am at pre-shot BG 257 (Alphatra). His new appetite stimulant cyproheptadine kicked in last night and this morning as well as his URI nasal congestion cleared and he started eating on his own but I still had to force feed for quantity sake. Thank you!
 
It looks like a more normal cycle - not 500s for a preshot and not a super low nadir. If he were mine, I would stick with a dose (this one may be a little low but looks safe) for a few cycles and get some numbers. See if when his infection clears and he starts eating better, the numbers improve or he looks like he needs a bit more.

Good job getting and staying on top of all this. You have learned a lot in a short amount of time!
