What do folks think- bump him up half a unit?

All of his preshots all week since I got him have been 380 and above, with the exception of that one wierdo 98 on Monday night.

If you can fill out your signature and create a spreadsheet I think members will be able to help you better
Here is a link helping us to help you link. If you noticed, our members have some basic information about their cat's in their signature. This helps us to not pester you by asking the same questions (your cat's name, insulin type, date of diagnosis, etc.) repeatedly. We also have a link to our spreadsheet in our signature. We are very numbers driven. The spreadsheet is a record of your cat's progress. By linking it in your signature, we can follow along and provide feedback should you need the help.

He's a cutie :cat:

I am not a Prozinc user so I will tag @FrostD and @JanetNJ
He’s very cute! I think he has attitude!
He is very sweet. But he does indeed have a bit of a 'tude. I gather that his first mom carried him around all the time as a kitten to the point that he has a slightly weak/deformed rear leg from hanging around her shoulders like a mink stole. When she passed, and her family took him in, he was peeing everywhere (including directly *on* them in bed at night). Who knows if this behavior is medical or trauma or from being spoiled or a combo of all. He was also indoor/outdoor at the time, and they told me that he just never cared for litterboxes. Well, he will not be going outside here, so we will need to negotiate. All of my cats use the toilet, so I set up the toilet training frame for him, which he used exactly once (just enough to get my hopes up) before switching to the bathtub. I filled the tub with two inches of water. He switched to the cat bed. I removed the cat bed. He switched to the sink. I filled the sink with two inches of water. He switched to the blanket I left for him to sleep on, and the bathroom rug. Little bleepety-bleep. I removed the litter from the toilet frame, figuring if he likes the sink he might go for that. Nope. I have informed him that I will settle for the tub/sink- if we must- but that he is *not* gonna be wetting my bed. Hopefully I can get his glucose down and that will help with that issue as well, if that is part of why he is doing it. He is also a opera singer, putting on shows at midnight, one, three and 4 am nightly.

Oh that is a sassy cat!

It would help to see a spreadsheet. Is he completely low carb wet diet?

That 98 gives me serious pause. I'd feel better with 0.25U increase, because it's also possible you're missing green numbers and catching mostly bounces

Bandit's mom is making me a spreadsheet. He is on Dr. Lisa's raw diet. Before that, the family had him on Friskies pate, but he was also grazing from some amount of kibble that the other animals were eating.

Ok. The reason I ask is making sure he's not in a transition, and also because of dosing method to follow. Are you familiar with the ProZinc dosing methods here? I believe I saw them linked in a previous thread. Do you have any questions about them, or one in mind?

Have you only been getting preshots? We do recommend a +2 or 3 each cycle. What have the midcycle numbers been like if you're getting any? It's not a criticism I'm just trying to get a picture until the SS is ready.

For now hold the dose, once SS is up and running I'll take a look. Just want to be doubly sure he isn't possibly bouncing from going too low.

I have always used Lantus before, so PZI is new to me. I work long-ass hours, so I will only be able to grab a midcycle once or twice a week. I only have one (besides the curve) right now- 476 at +7 on 11-21.

When you got the 98 did you take a second reading? If not it was probably a bad test. When you get a number that is out of the norm it’sa good idea to take another test.

I’d raise to 1.25 and try to get more mid cycle tests or a before bed test whenever possible.

One of mine only likes to pee on a puppy pad. Maybe that a good compromise. I hang it about 8” up on a wall with command hooks and then onto the floor in front of the litter box.

No, I felt confident that it was a good reading. t was a nice fat blood drop.
