? Jude out of remission

Jude went into remission on 4/28/24, but on 10/14/24, his numbers were high. He was diagnosed with a UTI. His numbers have continued to rise despite insulin and the eradication of the infection (they cultured his urine today, and the infection is not present). I'm guessing then that this means he's out of remission.

We started him at .25, but have gradually increased the dose to .75, yet he remains high. Should I hold him at .75 for a few days or go ahead and increase his dose?

I know it's common for the b.g. to be elevated with a UTI, but is it common for them to come out of remission due to a UTI?

Also, I tried to link his sugar sheet in my signature, but clearly I've forgotten how to rename the URL to "Jude's sugar sheet." If someone could remind me how to do this--as I recall, it's not good to link it the way I have.

Thanks!

To call the sheet something else on your signature, first copy the URL of the spreadsheet. Then start editing the signature. Type something like "Jude's sugar sheet" and then use your cursor to highlight the words you want to link to the spreadsheet URL. Click on the link button above the text box - 7th icon from the right in the toolbar. It will pop up a Link window with a spot to enter the URL. Paste the URL there and click Insert. All done.

Cats can come out of remission from anything that causes them to be in high numbers for a while, or condition that causes insulin resistance.

You need to hold a dose at least 6 cycles if following TR, 7 days if following SLGS now as you did the first time. The depot needs to build and that takes time. In fact, when you first started insulin, the dose should have been held longer.

Are you able to get any night times tests before bed? Many cats go lower at night and we dose based on how low the dose takes the cat. It's possible for a cat to go low and night then bounce during the day. 10/24 he did just that.
