Tiko is still in the hospital. Ketones are 4+ even though his BGs haven't gone above 200. It's not DKA yet, and he's on an IV drip, insulin and abx. A feeding tube will be discussed tomorrow when I see him. So far his breathing is under control after a shot of dexamethazone and some oxygen on Wednesday night. His mouth looks really good (he had 11 teeth extracted Monday).
He's very, very sick.
I'm honestly not sure he will come home...
I took this picture on Sunday, his first full day with us. Yes... it's like having Fletcher back...
Carolynn, sending healing thoughts and prayers that Tiko improves and doesn't need to go to the feeding tube. Please keep us posted. He is such a beautiful cat and so deserves to pull through and be given a loving and good life.
