Jake - 6 months OTJ today!

Jake today is celebrating 6 months of being officially OTJ!! We owe Jake's life to change of diet to wet food only, Lantus insulin, and all of you. Where my former vet failed; you prevailed and literally saved his life. He is now 18-1/2 and the healthiest he has been in years!

Congrats, Jake! Sue is OTJ trial for 5 days so far and hope's to follow in Jake's footsteps! Keep up the great work!!!!

Congratulations on 6 months. Yes, this is the best place for diabetic cats. Glad Jake is doing so well. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs to Jake from Tuffy another 18+ pounder.
 
Thanks everyone for your good wishes and to Barbara and Tuffy, Jake is 18-1/2 years old not 18-1/2 pounds!! :mrgreen:
Actually before he got diabetes, he weighed about 13 pounds and now weighs about 9 pounds - since being in remission he is putting a little weight back on, but I doubt that he will ever be 13 pounds again. To my knowledge he doesn't have any other health issues with the exception of some mild arthritis which is pretty good considering his age. We recently resolved his occasional diarrhea problem by giving him a little bit of plain pumpkin in his morning meal of canned Wellness - or at least it is working for now!

Good to see he's doing well Judy.. Jake was OTJ before I joined... My kitty is a big tall 23 pounds baby... ;-)
