@Wendy&Neko @tiffmaxee @Suzanne & Darcy @Bron and Sheba (GA) Panicking. +3.5 is 67 giving HC gravy but not sure what to do now or what to look for/
15 minutes after HC… 83 but still need to know what to look for and when to know that she’s going to be ok.
35 minutes up to 108. Giving some MC gravy food. She ate a little. Will check in 30 minutes but would sure like to know when I can know when she’s going to be ok.

Sorry nobody was around. As an FYI when you edit a post with tags, it usually breaks the tags and nobody gets the alerts :/

You did a good job! When you get a good bump from HC like that it's ok to let her go without food and retest in 30 mins - you want to keep her a little hungry in case she goes down again.

Generally speaking some rough guidelines (for an AlphaTrak): below 60 you give HC and honey/karo, retest every 15-20 mins (how much you feed depends on how low, and how long til nadir). 60-68 is HC, retest in 20 mins - again amount depends numbers and point in cycle. 68-80 is MC, usually just 1-2tsp, retest in 30. Above 80 is generally no food, or you could give a tsp or so of LC. Retest in 30-45 mins.

Exception would be diving BGs. Those usually need more food, and often higher carb sooner to help slow them down.

Every cat is different, some are more or less carb sensitive, so again those are just loose guidelines if you're not getting replies.

After you got that 186 you were good to go to bed - it either indicated a bounce, or too many carbs given, or both. No harm! Always better to err on side of caution. We usually say you're not "safe" until they're rising on their own after 2 hours without food...but in that case such a high number was ok.

Thank you, I will screenshot the info. She just tested at 294 but I'm not shooting this a.m.
I left MC mixed with LC out for her this a.m. ( paranoid) and I;m guessing she's still carb overloaded. She also had the runs but not surprising considering with the amount of gravy she's had.

@Bron and Sheba (GA) ended up seeing my post on the Lantus page and walking me through it. Long night. I’m exhausted and have to work. Ugh.

Ok good! I know how those nights go.

Ok I just checked over there as well. You would have been ok to shoot this morning, she's bouncing. But I understand how nerve wracking it can be when out of the house.

I would have been a mess at work and I work in a restaurant. It's going to be a long day after no sleep and if I added on the severe anxiety that would have come with shooting this morning, I wouldn't make it through my shift. I'm working the next 5 days. Hopefully, her new reduction will keep in her in safe waters.
