He has not had insulin sonce Oct 24 ..his BGs are below 180 .this morning it was 74.. We switched him to wet food and he is bugging ups for food all the time .. he wasa grazer and has always had food available .now he has to wait for us to feed him soat 2 AM heis batting my face for food.... and then at 4AM he is batting at me again..when I feed him he only eats a little bit then leaves the rest ...i will have to try and find a dry diabetic food \i can leave out at night..Any one have ideas???

Another option is to get an automatic feeder. We put frozen wet food in the feeder at the evening feeding; it feeds Niko at 5:45 am and he lets us sleep another hour or so! We love the PetSafe5. It is easy to program, has 5 slots and no cat has been able to break into it yet at our house. We don't feed more; we just divide the food up into smaller meals.

Wet food is better than any dry food, even Evo. You can leave wet food overnight.

I fill the plates with wet food several times during the day and for overnight. All my cats are grazers. It's best for diabetics to eat frequent small meals. It keeps their BG curve more level.

I agree with Venita. That's what i do. High protein low carb wet food.
Smokie is a diet controlled diabetic. cat_pet_icon She eats frequent small meals. A little at a time. I leave fresh wet food down all day.
At night i put down two cans of fancy feast chicken and tuna and add water.
The stress of being hungry and begging for food is not a good thing.

FWIW: Mugsy is a grazer. He would still rather have the food down all of the time (he'd still rather have his dry food) so, I just feed him when he wants it. He is on wet food and sometimes he will eat a whole can but, other times takes 3 licks and walks away. I feed him just before I go to bed because otherwise he bites me and tries to drag me out of bed (he draws blood). This late feeding plus one as soon as I get up seems to let me sleep without an attack.

He's got you trained! (Do you want to change that?)

I would not use a dry food unless you are willing to risk his remission status.

Freeze the food into pucks, get an automatic feeder, add water to the wet food so it stays fresh longer and just leave it out overnight....there are plenty of ways to accommodate a grazer without using dry food!

Just a note. I took a newly diagnosed diabetic anemed Tabitha about 10 days ago. She was used to being fed a combination wet and dry. Of course, I don't feed dry.

After about 3 days, I noticed that she didn't bolt all of her food after it was given. She saves some of it for grazing. It is always gone by next feeding time. She is still in a separate room for feeding and when I'm away from the house.
