Jack and Jane's Karre is crossing to the Bridge

It breaks my heart to write these words. Jack and Jane's beloved Karre will be setting out on his final journey on Saturday. He has been struggling recently with a serious illness and his condition has declined. Karre has let Jack and Jane know that he is tired of his struggle and is ready to rest, and they have made the most difficult decision to respect his wishes and to help him cross peacefully tomorrow. He was able to spend some time in the sun in his South African garden today, gently bathed in the tears of his beloved family. Karre's GA friends have gathered near the bird house in the garden to make ready for the arrival of the Emperor. His GA brothers, Lucci and Beni, will be there to show him the way. I know that all of the other Bridge kitties will join Bear Man, Emily, and Teddy in Cape Town tonight to make sure that Karre lands gently among friends. It would mean a great deal to Jack and Jane if everyone could send good thoughts and prayers to keep Karre company on his journey.

This is so heartbreaking. I will be thinking of you, and wishing Karre and easy crossing.

A candle will be burning in my house tonight for The Emperor Karre.
 
I'm SO SO sorry it's Karre's time to cross. He has lived an Emperor's life full of kindness, care and love...fly free sweet boy.

Remember, he's not gone, you just have to hug him differently...

I am so sorry. I hope that my Remy, also a solid black kitty, will be there to greet him - the two new kids. Remy left me to go to the bridge just yesterday afternoon. Totally unexpectedly. My heart aches for all of us. :-(

I am so sorry to see this news about Karre. I delighted in your stories about him and his imperial presence. The photos you've posted of your garden makes that special place very real to those of us who are a half of a world away. No doubt, Karre will find peace and contentment in the garden and with his many companions at the Bridge. My heart goes out to you all.

Thinking of you Jane and Jack. This is such a difficult thing to do but it is the final gift you give to Karre.....

I am so sorry to hear that it is Karre's time.

Remember to give him that snot halo as he passes. It's the best sendoff you can give him until you meet again.

Jane I am so sorry to read this. It is especially poignant for me, having just lost Mannie last month to multiple health issues. I know the tears are flowing for you and your family. I so hope that all the good memories will be of comfort to you. He will always be near: in your heart, and your minds eye. We will all miss you Karre, never to be forgotten.

Fly free sweet Karre. Mannie will be there to make sure you land softly. We will light a candle for you to guide you on your journey.

((((Jane and Jack))) It is with great sadness that I read that Emperor Karre is moving to a different kind of palace. I'm glad he got a sunny day in the garden with his family and the African Pride. We miss you and will be having dinner with many candles tonight. Fly freely Karre, you travel with love following you to the bridge.

I just felt my heart break, literally. I was blessed enough to meet you when Karre fell off the wagon and came back for more juice last year. As twisted as it sounds, his misfortune was my blessing, and a blessing to so many others who were not here for your first time dancing. I can't believe I'm reading this, as Karre seemed larger than life to me, like one of the Immortals. I can't begin to fathom how you are feeling. Please know that I am with you in spirit across the miles.

I'm so sorry to see this. I know no kitty could have asked for a better life but it doesn't make it easier to say Goodbye. Karre is known and loved by so many. Hugs and tears for you and yours.

I'm so terribly sorry to hear this and am at a loss for words. Karre was so very fortunate to find people who loved him so much and did everything they could for him. Praying for a peaceful crossing for him and sweet memories to brighten your days and nights ahead.

Very sad news. I feel almost as if Karre was one of my own, having read so many of Jane's lively and vivid descriptions of his progress through diabetes and remission and life in general. He was much loved by FDMB and will be be missed. Cyclone and Salem will be waiting for him. Big hugs to Jack and Jane.
 
So sorry to read this. My thoughts will be with Jack, Jane and Karre. My Sara will be there to greet him too.

i am so very sorry! i'm crying as i read this. my last kitty passed a year and half ago and it's such a hard thing to go through. you're in my thoughts :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I'm so very sorry to read that Karre is crossing the bridge. I send all my love to you all as you give him the most difficult yet kindest gift, freedom from pain and suffering. Thank all of you for your wonderful posts, thoughts and words. I will try to reply properly tomorrow. Today is still a lost day. But please know how grateful I am, and we all are, for all this kindness, love and support.
