My cat Isis was diagnosed about 2 mo. ago. Vet started her on 2U pro-zinc. She is up to 4U now, and doing well. I wanted to switch to PZI, and ordered some from BCP Pharm. This is what I used on Buddy. The cost is much better also. Here's the question. Can I switch from the Pro-zinc to the PZI still giving 4U? Vet says its OK. Just wanted some confidence from you guys. Has anyone else done this?

Are you home testing the blood glucose? Testing for urine ketones?
I would not change without being able to test the blood glucose, to make sure the cat was safe.

Click on your ID.

Home testing will certainly help you make a transition safely. Generally we don't see a whole lot of difference between the two insulins but it would be good to see his levels as you change.
Our guide for using ProZinc (PZI) is in blue in my signature. Both insulins are dosed the same.
