hi everyone,

but do you know of any pet insurance that will take a pre-existing condition? i know its my fault for not thinking of this sooner, but just thought i'd ask if anyone knows and/or has had any luck w/this type of thing.

HI Michele, I have pet insurance on two of my cats. Most of the insurance plans out there will not cover pre-existing conditions. One, Pets Health Plan, may cover a condition if there has been no treatment for 18 months I think. As far as getting diabetes covered at this point your out of luck I think and may have trouble getting insurance at all because diabetes can affect so many other areas of the body. I'm looking around for new insurance because the company I was using, Go Pet Plan, raised their rates this year and its unaffordable for me because my husband is unemployed. The three leading companies I've looked at is Purina Pet Care, Trupanion, and Embrace.
