Is Nutritional Yeast High Carb?

Hi all,
My cat LOVES nutritional yeast. We fou d this out by accident after she ate some off my plate one day. I give it to her all the time. I keep reading that it is low carb but I am wondering if these statements are based on the daily dietary needs of humans? You can see the nutritional info at the bottom of the page at:

Hi,

Have you tested your cat's blood glucose after giving the yeast to see if it shows any sign of elevating her BG levels? If it doesn't have any obvious effect I would think it is fine. But see what others say...

The yeast is about 40% calories from carbs. How low carb really depends upon how much you are giving.

She probably gets 1/3 a cup a day.

1/3 cup is 60 calories. FF is about 90 cal/can so that much yeast does effect overall carbs.
