Is Miralax safe for cats with kidney issues?

Also, has Miralax raised BG levels in your cat?

Yes and no.
It is common for cats using a phosphorous binde to be constipated and miralax is commonly used. Miralax is is just a chemical that draws water into the intestines to help avoid constipation. It does not effect BG

My cat isn't on a phosphorus binder so the constipation isn't due to that.
Some here in this forum have said their cat's BG levels go up with Miralax; others say it doesn't.
It would help to hear from members who have had success or not with it.

I have often used Miralax for our cats, specifically prescribed for those with kidney disease. ALL of the kidney cats were getting SubQ fluids while on it. You want to be careful about using it if you aren't giving SubQs because of the way it works, it can cause dehydration and make the kidneys work harder. Have never seen an issue with BGs on the sugar cats from it.
