Is it unusual that numbers can rise so sharply

After 10 day's of being on 1.75 units of Glargine, I'm going to re-curve in 3 days. Vet said re-curve in after 10 days to see if it's time to raise the dosage .25.

This afternoon I got a reading of 118 at +7. PMPS, he was 452?

Is it unusual that the cycle could go up in such a fast manner? Over 300 Points? In just a matter of a few hours? If so, how?

Or could it have been a bad test strip and it really wasn't that low?

You don’t have a lot of tests taken during the cycles, particularly the pm cycles, so it can be hard to see what is going on. However it is possible Pumpkin is bouncing from the 118 at+7 during the am cycle today.
Do you think you could get more tests in during both the cycles

Hi
Example, yes they can especially with my Corky, just look at his numbers for today , out of nowhere, high numbers. Corky loves to surprise me that way every now and then, or low numbers sometimes too low. that's why I test every 2 hours, I never know with him, but of course I have nothing to do, but do him, sometimes I run around like a chicken without a head, trying to find out what I did wrong so I look over the cans of foods I give him, insane but the that's Corky and crazy me over his diabetes:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:;)

It might be that the numbers continued to drop in the +8 & +9 hours, and maybe fell too low which caused his body to react to counter hypoglycemia. Back in November 27, 2023 the numbers fell another 39 points and that was with only .5 units.
