Is It Time to Increase Annie's Insulin???

Hi,
I was just wondering if we should increase Annie's shots from 0.75 units of Lantus twice a day to 1.00 units of Lantus twice a day??? She is doing fine, she is eating alot of fance feast fish andd shrimp and wellness chicken. She get NO HARD FOOD at all. I have been spot checking her ketasosis and it is normal. We are planning on doing more spot checks today as we are home for the weekend. Any suggestions???

Hi Judy,

You may get advice from Lantus users on this Health forum, but they usually hang out in the Lantus forum. On that forum, everyone uses your insulin and they have experience with dosing. It is a very busy forum and things move fast.

Good. If you start moving down the page without answers, just go back into your thread and choose post a reply and then write in something. It will move your post back up to the top. The forum does not seem very busy this morning so you may need to wait and watch.
 
It's impossible to say what's going on with this dosage since you have yet to do any real curves. We have no idea of what your cat's nadir is. That said, without knowing that info, your dose may be too high or too low. Why don't you set aside time and check blood several times throughout an entire 12-hour cycle - do this a few times and then you'll have a better sense of the correct dosage
