Second time this week mickey peed in his cat bed. But alot of pee.
Besides four piles of poop in kitchen.
Gotta go check around my beds. Don't know if he got me there.
Wondering if it's not a UTI- behavioral or he cannot help it. :dizcat :dizcat

Ok, 1 bed hit.
Just went online and made an appointment with Dawn Allen on Monday, December 19, 2011 04:45 PM - 05:30 PM EST

I'll be interested in what you find out. It could very well be that he can't help it because his bladder gets so full and if there's an infection that might make it impossible for him to hold it.

But the pooping seems behavioral. Until I read a cat behavior book when I had so much trouble with Tigget I would never have related a raccoon appearing on our deck to Tigget's suddenly attacking Gandalf after living together for 5 years. That behavior is called misdirected aggression and can happen and escalate even after the "threat" is long gone. She couldn't get to the raccoon and despite his color, Gandalf was about as big as a raccoon, so he was the next best thing.

Although I told a friend of mine whose cat had begun peeing "everywhere" that since her sister moved in with them and brought a dog with her that it was probably behavioral. Turned out he is hyper-T, but she also put him on prozac or something, which I had recommended too, and the peeing stopped and he began acting "normal" again.

The first step in sudden behavior change is ruling out a medical problem.

Maybe some neurologic impairment has hit him and he can't control or doesn't know when he needs to eliminate.
