Is it okay to ONLY feed one particular FF flavor?

It's the Fancy Feast flaked fish and shrimp, and it is literally the only wet food in the history of the world that Bartholomus will eat. He has several siblings who love wet food, and I feed them 4 times a day; throughout the years we've probably been through 20 different brands and multiple dozens of flavors. But he will never ever come near any of it except this ONE can. He is dry food dependent.

Aside from him just getting bored/tired of it, is there any issue from a health standpoint with feeding him only this flavor, to get him off the dry food? I feel like because there is whole shrimp in it, there might be maybe an iodine issue?
Please advise!

It is recommended not to give a purely fish diet. There is a possible tie to fish and hyperthyroidism. From the catinfo.org website, a website written by a vet specializing in feline nutrition:
PBDEs are fire retardant chemicals that can be found in high concentrations in some fish and also in house dust. Since PBDEs are known to affect thyroid function, and cat foods tend to be high in fish, there may be a causal link between hyperthyroidism and fish consumption. This is one of several reasons why I recommend against feeding fish-based diets to cats.
The high iodine might be another issue.

I wonder if you could mix a teeny bit of another flavor into the Fish & Shrimp, and very slowly increase the other flavor while very slowly decreasing the Fish & Shrimp.

Corky and Coco love the Fish & Shrimp Flake ,I feed 4 flavors a day, but I make sure to find foods that have chunks, my kiddos love chunks, so I feed them, Trout, Chicken Chunky, I mix the tender beef at night with several pieces of the Fish & Shrimp I camouflage the flavors this way, in the can I emptied, I pace 1/4 tsp of the real food they like ( put some water in the can mix, and put 1 tsp of that water in the food and mix it, they smell and taste it, I always put a tsp.. of water in their food anyways in each meal, I purchased a can cover at Chewy for a few bucks id for 3 size cans and two covers, put the left over for next feeding it in the fridge

I'll definitely give this a try. Right now, when I do give him this flavor, he doesn't eat much of it. I put down maybe 1/3 of a can, and he eats a little more than half of that. So it's already going back into the fridge for the next go around. I'll do some experimenting.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. I knew there was something I needed to worry about 🙃
