Is it my meter or test strips

I just did my PMPS for Milo, with strips from ADW. Just opened last night. I did 3 readings. I hit 397, which prompted retest. I did a second and got 307, with huge difference I did third and got 283. For the heck of it I tested on my freestyle WHICH I KNOW TESTS LOW and got 247. That leads me to believe 307/283 is more in correct range.

My last container had about 15 error strips. Last night and today I had odd readings so makes me wonder if bad set of strips. I'm going to go to the dreaded Wally World and get the strips there.

Don't forget the meters can read 20% high or low. So if you factor that into your numbers they are all around each other. The difference gets smaller as the BG gets lower.

I'd use your strips and not worry about it. Always the primary concern with FD is if a cat is too low - and because of the 20% meter variance that's allowed by law, the difference is way more in high numbers than in low numbers.

Realistically, that pmps is around 300. When he's down to 50, the meter variance is going to be 20% - so 40-60, which is enough to tell you about where he is. Even if you test the very same drop of blood with 2 strips on any meter you'll get 2 different numbers.

To avoid becoming insane, ;) i'd just go with whatever you get. I only retested maybe twice in the 2.5 years that punkin was diabetic. If a number is way out of reason, like you've got 3 hours of green numbers and suddenly you get a 547, then the next test is green, then i'd assume bad strip. But otherwise, i'd ignore the differences.
