Hello--
My 13.5 yr old cat, Alice was just diagnosed with feline diabetes. This is within 6 months of being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism & kidney disease--She's become quite a complicated cat. This is day 4 of a low carbohydrate canned diet & Lantus insulin. The vet started her at 1 unit twice daily, but after checking her blood glocose today, reduced the dose to 1/2 unit twice daily. We are using 3/10 cc low dose U-100 insulin syringes. One whole unit is the smallest mark on them. Does anyone know where I can purchase U-100 syringes with 1/2 unit marks? We are concerned that we aren't giving an accurate dosage with the current syringe. Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks--
jan

Just be sure if you purchase them at a pharmacy (WalMart), you insist on seeing the words
"1/2 unit marks" or something similar on the box of syringes.

Some pharmacists will insist no such thing exists, and will try to sell you U-100 syringes
of 1/2 cc capacity, instead.
