Hi, I've been here before with Gertie and Gizzy. We've lost both of them, Gertie to cancer and Gizzy to something underlying making his diabetes uncontrollable. Now we have Pippie who we rescued from NYACC in 2019. She came to us on insulin and I got her into remission within a week of having her. I still tested her every three months and in November she was high. New vet put her on Pro-Zinc but she was bouncing like crazy. My vet changed her to Lantus which is what I like. She's so so so skinny and I need help with that as well as having a spreadsheet created for her please. :) Thank you all for helping us!

Welcome to FDF, I see you were able to create the SS, good job, when possible, please fill in the Bgs for the day, I assume you are home testing?, what are you feeding Pippie? and what is the Lantus dose?

I’m sure once you’ve got her diabetes under control she will regain weight—and as an old hand at this I know you know to feed extra until then as she’s not getting all she needs from what she eats.

the only thing I might be able to suggest, are comfort sachets by Tiki Cat. According to them they are 80% protein and 20% fat and 25 cal per sachet (I’d say about a tsp of a creamy paste). They are chicken liver flavored. My boy (who needs to gain weight) would walk through fire for them. Because he has pancreatitis I can’t feed him lots at a time, and they aren’t nutritionally complete so can’t be used in place of food just in addition. You might consider those.

@Steph&Pippie
Hi can you please add to your signature the date Pippie was diagnosed . Also I see on your signature you have TR for the dosing method, but on your spreadsheet you have SLGS , can you correct either one :cat:
