Hi. This is Caesar's spreadsheet. Was advised that I am at insulin toxicity. He is on Lantus and I changed his dose to 2.50 he was 18 days on 2.00. Not sure how to handle this dosing now. I free feed YA Zero Lid 1/2 cup 2x daily bc of 3 other non diabetics. I have lessened the kibble serving and feeding more pate in between. I work 8-10 hour days and also is why I leave kibble for during the time I'm at work. I don't know where to go from here with dosing. Thank you

I’m going to ask @Bandit's Mom to have a look at the spreadsheet. It doesn’t look like one of ours.
I would continue with the current dose for 7 days as per the SLGS dosing method and then do a curve.
This dose is getting him down to blue which is progress.
Can you get a before bed test in each night?
posting more frequently will help as you can ask for advice

Do you mean glucose toxicity? Insulin toxicity is hypoglycemia.

Glucose toxicity is when your cat stays in higher numbers for a longer than necessary period of time. As a result, it can make it tougher for numbers to get into normal range and your cat's numbers may be bouncier.

This is the same sheet I have ised on here since 2022 , also used it when I was being helped with remission. I thought it looked the same, I now have the SS from here but I don't have access to a computer or lap top at the moment to transfer the numbers and I just can't do it from my phone. I will get to that asap. Thank you and I'm sorry for that. I have commented on the only other group I follow but I have never asked for any help from anyone on the group, I have only had help from FDMB.

In the meantime I have new data from the insulin dose I changed from last week. Starting tonight I believe I need to change his dose but I need some input on what to change it to if someone could please guide me. It seems I got him out of the toxicity but I may be 100% incorrect. This is all a bit different from 2022. I will also be doing more research on TR. When I think I have a better understanding of it all I continue my research and feel like I am clueless but at least thankfully Caesar is the best patient to have. He's such a great boy. Thank you in advance for help with my next move

Hi. It's me again. I have more data from my dose change from last week. I need advice what my next possible dose change will be. I posted below somewhere on this thread but not sure if everyone sees it in this thread. I apologize about the spread sheet, will be taking care of that. I explained that in my last post on here as well. It's a mix up but I have never asked for help on any other platform but here. I was helped here in 2022 getting my boy into remission. So the new data is on this SS for now and I don't know what to do moving forward for tonight's dose. . Thank you !!!!

I think you have room to increase the dose. However, I would increase by 0.25u. In most cases, we make dose changers in 0.25u increments. Since you are feeding your cat a dry food (Young Again), you would need to follow the Start Low Go Slow (SLGS) dosing method. You can't use TR if a cat has any dry food in his diet.

I also want to strongly encourage you to always test before you give insulin. At least from what I see on your spreadsheet, it looks like you have a few times when you haven't gotten a pre-shot test. Instead, you got a +1 which, at least from the way we view spreadsheets, means you gave Caesar his shot and then fed him and tested after he had a meal. It's very important to get a test before you feed your cat and before you give insulin. You want to be sure the pre-shot test numbers indicate that it's safe to give insulin and you don't want the pre-shot test to be influenced by the effect of food. You want to test, feed, and then shoot. Many of us give our cat his shot while he's eating.

Hi. I test him every day b4 his shot am and pm. I give his insulin right after testing while he is eating as you explained. We have that routine down real well. Those 10 pm you see on his SS or even 10 am is because I get out of work late sometimes then I have to test a shoot back to his 9:00 typical time. I dial it back in increments. Thats what my little time and arrows mean. I will make notes so it's not confusing. But yes I do the good ole routine daily, lol. I raised him up to the .25 tonight. And also.... I knew there was a reason I didn't try TR. Thank you !!!!!!
