Hola, tengo a mi gato que venía con muchas dosis de insulina, al cambiar de alimentación, comenzó a bajar. La última semana me paso que tuvo valores muy bajos, apliqué protocolo antes una probable hipoglucemia (tenía 48 a veces) , luego los valores por las nubes, pero con poca dosis de insulina respondía muy bien y bajo a valroes normales nuevamente.
Mi duda es cuánto podría tener de de depósito de insulina, después de hipoglucemias que subieron muchó los valores luego. Me dijeron que son 6 ciclos. Esto son 6 días? Y se mantiene después de hiperglucemias, generada por una hipoglucemia (y porque apliqué miel y carbohidratos)?

Your reference to 6 cycles is 3 days - that is the TR dosing method. Once you get things set up (signature, spreadsheet and selected a dosing method)...perhaps you'll be back in this group.

depende de la insulina. Como preguntas en el foro de lantus/levemir supongo que esta usando una de ellas???
Si este es el caso, se considera que el deposito, cada vez que uno cambia la dosis, puede tardar hasta 6 ciclos para ajustarse y ver el efecto real de la dosis. Por eso como mínimo, cuando subimos la dosis, esperamos un mínimo de 6 ciclos (o tres días/ normalmente damos insulina cada 12 horas ósea hay dos ciclos de 12 horas por día).
Creo que quizás tengas algo de confusión con deposito, y 'bounce'
Después de tener un episodio de valores de glucosa que son mas bajos que lo normal para el, ya sea 48 o 100, si su nivel de glucosa baja de forma rápida, o si pasa mas tiempo de lo normal en valores que sean mas bajos que es usual, independiente de la insulina, el gato diabético, puede sufrir un rebote, lo llamamos 'bounce', es un efecto fisiológico, el hígado, 'pensando' que el gato esta en peligro inicia unos procesos fisiológicos/hormonales que resultan en un incremento de glucosa in la sangre (el hígado tiene glucosa almacenado). Este 'bounce' dura unos 6 ciclos, y luego se normalizan los valores.

Que tipo de glucómetro tienes? humano o para mascota? 48 in glucómetro humano es un poco bajo, pero no alarmante, especialmente si no hubo síntomas, sin embargo con glucómetro de mascota es mas preocupante.
Cuando tuvo los niveles bajos tuvo síntomas? o solo fue los valores que fueron bajos?

Si le diste solo azúcar/miel para subirle los niveles sanguíneos de glucosa, el efecto de ese tipo de azucares es rápido, y de poca duración (un par de horas como mucho), sin embargo si le diste pienso alto en carbohidratos, eso puede dura unos días, cuanto depende un poco del gato, y como hace la digestión.



Veo que también has estado preguntando sobre Cushings? Como esta tu Gatito? Se le han curado las heridas que tenia? O sigue con problemas?

Nos gustaría ayudarte algo mas, podrías darnos mas información?

3) tipo comida
4) tipo de glucómetro
5) cuanto tiempo lleva diagnosticado con diabetes?
6)Cuando cambiaste la comida
