Insulin Levels High After Dose

I use ProZinc and my cat is on 4 units every 12 hours.
He originally was on 2 units, which got up to 3 units, then 4 units.

I worry I may be administering the insulin wrong or he has become insulin resistant because his numbers will be very high (400's) a couple hours after insulin. I typically administer insulin in the scruff of his neck, and I've tried doing other areas, but it's a lot harder to find a place that works because he's more sensitive to other areas. I do a "tent" with his scruff and place the needle in that, making sure to puncture it and slowly release the insulin by pressing on the needle. I worry I'm hitting something that is affecting his ability to adsorb the insulin better. I was told in a tutorial to draw back the push tab on the needle to check for blood, but it's so hard to see that much if I'm doing this by myself.

Is there a YouTube tutorial anyone recommends that shows how to administer insulin properly? Could I just run to the vet and ask them to show me a demonstration again?

I found this one that I have used, but it could be out of date:
