Insulin left out!

I take care of Cosmo's insulin every morning and night for consistency reasons. However, since my hubby works on the weekend and I don't, if he has a morning shift, he'll wake up at 5:00AM to feed and shoot up Mo. (forever thankful that I get a day or two to sleep in each week)

So, this morning when I managed to drag myself out of bed around 10:30, I noticed that he forgot to put the insulin back in the fridge. I would say it was probably out for a solid five hours. It's honestly no big deal if I need to go out and get a new one, he gets Novolin N and the Walmart by me sells it OTC for like $23. I just need to know if I need to go get a new one. The bottle was room temp when I picked it up to put it back in the box.

OH NO Shannon! You're ruined a whole bottle of insulin!

SERIOUSLY now, it's OK....just had to give you a hard time. Most of us have done the same thing at one time or another.

My fridge drawer is a wasteland of 1/2 used bottles. Just like all the 1/2 eaten cans of food. My blue bin stinks!
