I had to leave hubby in charge, when I got home I found the insulin on the counter. It had been sitting there for about 1.5 hrs. It's about 71 degrees in my house, no heat or A/C on. Do I need to get a new bottle? I could just kill him. He just doesn't pay attention to stuff. I don't know how the heck I'm gonna be able to leave him in charge for 5 days! angry(2)_cat

It should be okay. I left mine out overnight once. The only question would be the temperature.

Darn. You will be able to see if it is no longer working - it stops impacting the numbers.

that should be no problem, check the color and look for particles if your ever concerned.

I could just kill him....I'm really worried about leaving her with him. I told him to check BG around 6:15, text me the # then feed then get ready to shoot. He texted me the #, I told him to shoot .6 then 30 mins later he wants to know where the syringes are! It never takes her 30 mins to eat....I don't know what the heck he was doing, but he's like that....moves at a snails pace for everything! Can you tell I'm annoyed? LOL! Anyway, it's not even warm feeling in here...that's what the thermostat reads though. She's got such wacky #'s anyway I don't know if I could tell. Wonder how many times he'll leave it out while I'm gone? ohmygod_smile

Heck no, I've been nagging him for 30 yrs! Sometimes I think that makes it worse...then he gets stubborn & really doesn't pay attention. I will be texting him to remind him but I've got some times I probably won't be able to. I'm almost tempted to board her but I know that will be worse on her. I made these plans before she was diagnosed, I wouldn't have planned the trip had I known.

Wish I had some good ideas. I have been married to my DH for 30 years also, and gave up trying to change him about the 2nd year in. Lucky for me, he loved Oliver and was fascinated by the whole diabetes thing.

Oh, he loves all the kitties....3 of my current 4 he brought home. He's just that way with everything. He is willing to do the testing & shooting but I can't trust him to get the dosing right if something changes. He's really just in his own little world. For example, he leaves his car windows down, keys in the ignition ALL the time! We don't live in the country & I'm surprised his car hasn't been stolen. The inside has been soaked numerous times. He says he never knows when he's gonna get in it again so he doesn't want it hot. I gave up on that one a long time ago. So, this is just another example of how he rolls. Well, nothing else to do except hope it's ok. Guess only time will tell. :YMSIGH:

Oh Barbara!
I can so relate, my husband was a snail in his former life!

I have left the insulin out all day one time and went to work
It was fine!

Denise and shakes

Gosh that's a tough one. My husband is let's say...frugal...so knowing how much a vial will cost to replace, he's always gentle with it and puts it right back in the fridge. ;-)
