Increasing weight (trying to return to pre-infection weight)

The saga from the past months continues: My kitty weighed a pound more 3 months ago and was diagnosed with an infection that we think is now under control (results due back later today or tomorrow). In any event, she seems to have hit a ceiling on the return to the original weight which is a healthy weight. I'd like to find a way to get her back up but all the supplements are high sugar/carb which is not good for my sugarcat.

Suggestions or success stories to share and/or things to avoid?

Thank you!

Re: Increasing weight (trying to return to pre-infection wei

I just looked at some older posts about foods that are higher in calories. Looks like Wellness, low carb kitten food and the a/d food from the vets are more calorie dense. Does your vet think she needs to regain the pound? Good luck!

Re: Increasing weight (trying to return to pre-infection wei

She needs to gain weight and her pre-starting to lose weight was "acceptable" to the vet. A pound a half would be better but we'd be happy with getting back to her earlier weight. The vet's words were "oh her bones are sticking out!" It's odd for a diabetic but she's always been a finicky eater and a challenge.....Thanks for taking the time to write!

Evo canned is also high in calories. Wellness chicken, kitten and turkey flavors have the highest calories of that bunch.
