Has anyone ever done an in-home enema for a constipated kitty? Is it easy to do (it looks like it might be)? Can it be done safely with a small syringe (Pet-Ema uses 6 ml with cats)? Can the liquid in the syringe consist of only warm water or do other things need to be added like mineral oil, etc.?

I just want to make sure this is safe for me to do at home - if Boomer will let me!

Thanks,
Judy

Yes, there is lots of information on Pat Erickson's site, but it does not state what to use for a syringe. That is why I am wondering if anyone else has done an enema and what type of syringe would suffice if the only liquid (rather than mineral oil or lactulose) in the syringe is water.

Maybe a bulb syringe as is used to remove mucus from a baby's nostrils would work.
