Improving Numbers

I've had Morky on the 2.5 unit dose for 3 days now, paired with wet food only and started adding a scant 1/4 tsp of brewers yeast to his food each morning and night. He's been working steadily down in the PS numbers, with his lowest day yet today

amps: 22.8 (410.4)
pmps: 15.9 (286.2)

He's walking better, he was playing with a fish on a stick toy and is really brightening up, no troubles getting up and down stairs.

It's looking good folks . . . haven't even had him a week yet :)

Just wanted to say thanks!

(ketone strips still haven't arrived, so really needing to get those to get a full picture.)

It's looking pretty good. Liked seeing that lower pmps last night. Wish he wasn't so high in the morning. Probably because the Canninsulin peters out before the +12 amps. Do you let him snack overnight? That might help his numbers level out overnight...... Anytime you can get a mid cycle number (am or pm) it will help you see the overall picture better.

Until you get the ketone strips be watching for any reduction in eating or dehydration. Be glad when you can test him for ketones - sure you will be too.

He's a bit funny that way, it's the same amount of time inbetween, but his evening ps numbers are consistently lower. . . not sure what the secret is there or what he gets up to at night that's causing the morning one's to be considerabaly higher! Might have to chase him around the next day I'm off to see what an evening curve looks like!

He doesn't tend to eat his food in one go, so he tends to nibble on it thoughout the day, I might try leaving a bit extra out for him tonight before bed to see if that makes an impact on his morning numbers.

I think they tried to show up today but needed a signature, so hopefully by friday they'll be in. The tricky part will be catching him mid pee!

Thanks again for keeping an eye on us Sue, I know it's helped big time with my confidence with managing this and that can only be good for Morky :)

Wondering how things are going. Your ss is not longer accessible. (it has the cc in the middle, not the pub so that may be the problem.). If you go to your copy, you can go through the steps to publish to the web again. Be sure to erase this one from your signature before you add the URL for the published one.

Hi Sue!

Well, as you'll see in the numbers, I think I jinxed myself a bit as yesterday was a really high day :( Gave Morky less than a tbs of some dry food in the morning just as I was getting ready (before his amps) and it seemed to bump him up and he was just overall in the red and black zone yesterday.

I moved the dose down to 2 to see if that could have any sort of impact. His starting number was lower today, which is good news (still need to get it on the spreadsheet) but definitely nice to know you're keeping an eye out and I've changed the settings on the ss so that should be it working again!

The ketone strips came in the post yesterday and haven't been able to catch him doing his thing, but if there's the sound of paws in litter, I go running!

If just looking at the overall cat, he seems happy, alert, relaxed, so while I was less than pleased with the numbers yesterday, fingers crossed it was just a bad day!

Your spreadsheet still isn't viewable to us. Did you delete the link from your signature, and then re add it back in, after you updated it?

Hope you and Morky have a nice weekend :-D

Your numbers at preshot still look really high. Can you get a curve in this weekend - maybe that will help us see whether you need to go down or up in dosage.

Hi Sue,

Yup, I can run a curve tonight and tomorrow during the day, won't be quite 24 hours, but I'll try to get as close as I can. I'll pop it up in a new board, starting with this evenings ps.

Many thanks!
