Protocol for TRACE ketones in urine???
Increase the amount of water you can get into him any way possible to help flush the ketones.
Add more water to his food, syringe water into him....anything that increases the fluid and keep a close eye on it
He has since eaten....lots of pate w added water....his by levels have come down a bit....closely monitoring today. Speaking to vet today as well.To echo the others, lots of water to help flush the ketones. It is worrisome that he isn't eating. The recipe for a DKA event is :
Not enough insulin + in appetence + a systemic stress of infection. Maybe a vet appointment is in order .
