I'm so mad at myself.

Yesterday Frankie broke his bounce and was having a lovely cycle and for his PMPS he was 9 (162) and what do I do? I seemed to have pressed the plunger in on my way to where he was as I though the plunger only went in a short way. I was proved right by his reading of 30.7 (553) this morning. Today I made sure I was not such an idiot and at am +5.5 he is 19.6 (352). Of all the times to do something so daft, why just when he seemed to be sorting himself out to this dose? I am so mad I could scream! Vent over. Thanks for listening.

You weren't "an idiot", sweetie.
Stuff happens. And sometimes 'sod's law' dictates that 'stuff will happen' at the most inconvenient times...

Be kind to yourself. (Although it has to be said that screaming can also have therapeutic benefits. So, maybe a good, loud, cathartic, ear-splitting, roof-raising scream, and then chocolate.... Lots of chocolate..... Or ice cream.... Mmmm......:p )
.

I second Eliz's ice cream recommendation. (Vanilla's very soothing.) And something with butter. Lots of butter.*

I don't understand what you mean.
Are you saying you pushed the insulin out before injecting? Or do you mean the needle went all the way through the tent and out the other side?
Either way, most of us have done either or both in the course of managing our diabetic cats. We've shot ourselves by mistake (the dose is too small to affect you!), bent needles, tested our own blood because the lancet got us too, and more. It comes with the territory.

I've done all the above. It is trial and error - best not to blame yourself - "medical training"comes with the diagnosis. We do the best as fur parents. My goodness, it took weeks for me to get blood from my baby (simple and easy step... not!) I love Elizabeth's description of screaming/yelling... lol.

Don't beat yourself up! Eat lots of ice cream! I've been there (we all have). It happens...and you will get him back where he needs to be.

As it happens, when you all posted I was having a lovely pub lunch in this glorious weather ( for once) and guess what I had for dessert??? ;)

Before I had any idea what I was doing I thought I was furshooting every time Luna's #'s didn't go down despite the fact that there was no wetness or smell or anything. Turns out I was doing it right but I was angry at myself regardless lol.

Huggles dont be so hard onyour self.. enjoy your scream.. I know I love those myself, have a nice bowl of icecream the richer the better and add 2 shots of rum over the top.. make it an adult sunday!

Oh, you poor thing! Be kind to yourself. We have all been there. I stopped holding the syringe with my finger on the plunger for just that reason, been there done that. And on a silly note, I knew you must be from the UK, just reading "daft" never really heard the word used until last week and my son got me hooked on "The Last Tango in Halifax" They use the word a lot.
