So, this afternoon Goof climbs into my lap and just keeps staring at me. I noticed his breathing was little noisy and he looked like he just didn't feel well, so I tested him, 372! His numbers have been jumping around a little even tho nothing has changed around here. Food, the same. (Friskies T&G canned). Activity, the same. Environment, the same. He had a dental with one extraction on Sept 23, but seemed to recover from that nicely.

He had a vet appointment today anyway (Thank God) so he got checked over. There were two stitches that hadn't dissolved and his gum was a little inflamed, they removed them. His urinalysis was good, no ketones or bacteria. He had some sores around his mouth so he'll start gettingL-lysine and antibiotics for the runny nose. I did give him 1 unit of insulin after finding the 372, just checked a few minutes ago, 347. Of course the trip to the vet was quite stressful for him. I'll test him again around 10 tonite, just to see....

We all know the feeling Tammy!!

China's URI threw her numbers for a total loop, so hopefully with Goofus's inflammation (and it sounds like maybe a URI too) once he clears those, his numbers will look better

Sorry to hear that Goof isn't feeling so well. Hopefully the issue with the undissolved stitches will clear up and get him back to his normal self. Fingers and paws crossed for you both! :bighug:

Thanks guys. Goof 's BG was 136 this morning, not sure if that's a bounce or not but I'll be at work all day so I'll check him again tonite and update.

Hi Tammy. Hopefully it was just a fluke. He seems to get high BGs when he's not feeling well, like when he had the dental, so hopefully as soon as the inflammation and sniffles go away, his BG will go back to the normal range. Hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So relieved! His BG was 96 with FS strip and same blood sample was 95 with an AT strip. He's acting better too, but I'm a little concerned as his back legs seem a little unsteady now. Hopefully that'll get better too. BTW, he HATES the augmentin, and pitches a royal fit twice a day when he gets it. :arghh:
