Stanley's been doing great, testing him within the greens for about 2 weeks, 53 - 109, slowly decreasing his insulin, I have him currently on a "drop" of Lantus twice a day.

I am hoping someone can give me a bit of feedback as to whether I should start a trial OTJ with Stanley. Or should I be patient for another week or so?

PS My spreadsheet is missing about 10 days...dumb me ordered strips off ebay and they didn't arrive in a timely manner...won't do that again! :-x I had one strip saved just in case I noticed anything unusal in him...

Thank you in advance..

You are getting great numbers with just this drop. I don't see that he's dropped below 50 at anytime and that is typically when we say drop the dose.

With that being said, and this is just my 2 cents only. Since you are only giving a drop, if you want to stop that and see if he holds in the greens (preferably staying in double digits), go ahead and give the OTJ trial a try. If you see him steadily creeping up into the 100's you can always stop the trial and give him a drop again until the next time.

But to me, it looks like he may be ready.

Of course if you want to wait another few days and continue with the drop of insulin, this would be ok too, what you may find is that he will drop below 50 in the next few days and you will start the trial then.

REally, it's up to you.....either way, he's doing great.

What have the peeps in lantus suggested?

I think that in your shoes, I would "want to know", and I'd probably give it a try. At worst, you'll have to go back to a drop again.
