But when I sent this pic to Cindy when I got my free meter she said I should post it so everyone could smile, too

this is Kyndra with her buddy, Darwin, my bearded dragon. Yes, he is real - not stuffed or rubber. He is usually a much prettier yellow but he darkens when he get sleepy. If this not the right place to post just let me know and I will delete and move it.

there they are! see I told you everyone would love that! :)

(i hadn't even put two and two together when i posted to you below about paw testing that this was you. how funny)

That is one of the cutest pictures I've ever seen - you should enter that in a contest someplace. I love it.

If Kyndra had 23 toes and Darwin's head in her mouth, I'd swear it was Mittsi. Their markings are almost the same.

Emmy & Dude

& Mittsi too (and just another rude remark about moi)

Wow! That's definitely got to be on a cat calendar somewhere. At first I thought the yellow guy was a snake until I had the picture maximized.

Aren't I bad.... I thought the same thing as Emmy..... it can't be Ms. Mittsy.... oh well... that is such a sweet picture... I love it. Thanks for posting it..

Oh, wow!!! That is an all time winning photo, that's for sure!!! I bet you would win if you entered it next January in the 365 day cat calendar that is put out by Workman's Publisher. You don't win anything but a calendar, but I bet they would put that picture on one of the days of the year in 2011...!!!!

Your Kyndra looks soooo much like my Ketchie!!! Almost the same type of checkerboard markings on their faces! So happy to see another beautiful tortie! They are so much fun, aren't they? I bet your little Darwin and Kyndra really love each other, the way it looks!

Wow!! That's amazing!! Just goes to show how accepting animals can be. They are too cute together. Kyndra has her own snuggle buddy!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

Glad I could make some smilies here!! I did enter this in a contest online on a Bearded Dragon forum and they won (just virtual hugs and laughs and stuff - no money or anything) but Darwin has his pics in a Beardie book. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are two more :)

The place we used to live had a place for her window seat to attach which she loved! I'd often put Darwin there with her to catch some rays, too! I have a pic somewhere of Kyndra, Lita (my Russian Blue) and Darwin. Lita tolerates him but you'll NEVER find her snuggling!! But she does kiss caterpillars (I'll have to dig that one up - the photo, not the caterpillar! lol!!

Jean, they do have the similar dark/light half face! :)

Very cool! DH was just showing me photos on a photo site he visits and the theme was love. The photos were taken by amateur photographers and there were several animals shots and this one would be great there. Love it!

Hi to Kyndra's Mom,

Do you know what Kyndra's mother and father looked like? I always wondered about my Ketchie. Her mother, Gracie came to us in 1995 and was pregnant from outside strays. Gracie was solid gray and looked like a Russian Blue or Korat. But I often wondered what the father might have looked like to produce a beautiful tortie like Ketchie. Plus, Ketchie had a twin that had the opposite coloring on her face, but she was adopted out to a lady I knew in 1995.

The pictures are just adorable!!! Thanks for posting them!

Líta and Cyrus

Hi Jean,

No idea about her parents, history, anything. I adopted her at 15 months from a Shelter here in NH. Her name was "Baby" and the people who gave her up said she had a vet history which turned out to be untrue so I know nothing about her except that other than being a vacuum cleaner eater(!) she is a real sweetie! She's now 10 1/2. Líta Leleishka, my Russian Blue, was adopted at 1yr (now 9). The people who gave her up were nuts! Very kittenish still and the two of them are quite entertaining!

Here is Líta wondering what the heck THIS is!? (it's Cyrus, my Nosy Be Panther chameleon - notice the eyes looking in 2 directions? one at her and one at me -"Ma, get me outta here!"

and here she is tolerating him

Aww... I love beardies. I'm owned by one. He and Willow tolerate each other, but don't cuddle on purpose.

I was on my way to bed when I stopped to look at your pics! I am gobsmacked!! Such cuteness, and such amazing creatures! They are all such brilliant photography too!

Thank you so much for sharing! You've made my day/night! :-D

I love these pictures!

My Snickers is a tortie, and my Sasha is a Russian Blue :) I don't think I've met anyone with that same combination before!

That's great that we have the same combo! I wonder if they have many of the same personality traits. I find that of course there is similarity in breeds but there is also similarity in colors! My last pair were a torti Cymric and a gray/white polydactyl domestic shorthair. So even though the breeds are different, Líta and Justíca(gray cats) and Kyndra and Svette Lana (tortis) have a LOT of personality, mannerisms and quirky things in common!

WOW! That is amazing and so adorable. Friendship knows no boundaries. Thank you sooo much for sharing.

Feel free to post more. I LOVE seeing inter-species friends!

I'll look for the one of Líta kissing a big cecropia caterpillar. I can't recall if that was a with a digi camera or film. I raise the moths so I am sure I have others. I never have a lens far from my eye and live with some odd animals. If you want a cute little "story" of Líta and another fuzzy buddy you can go here http://good-times.webshots.com/album/215398882lslsXg - be sure to read the captions and zoom in on each pic in the album, there are just 6 of them, but I had fun putting it together

Wow - they DO look similar. You've got pretty calm cats! Lots of interesting animal friends. Sounds like it must be a very interesting house!!!!
