I had Skipper all the way up to 3.0 U without much movement in his numbers. He hovers about +/-50 points from 350. Then one day I went to work without giving him his shot. 6 hours later he was the same as with three units. So I decided to start over with one unit. He was about (a little lower actually) the same numbers as with 3 units. Now I'm sure he would slowly rise to hi if he didn't get any insulin, but it defintely isn't dropping his numbers enough. His numbers have even been higher at +6. Sorry I haven't used my spreadsheet forever but here is an example of what he looks like...
2/2 am 361 1 unit
+6 297
PM 343 1 unit
+6 291
2/3 AM 335 1.25 units
+6 304
PM 301 1.25 units
2/4 AM 316 1.25 units
+6 319
PM 360 1.5 units
2/5 AM 422 1.5 units
PM 338 1.5 units
It seems like 1.0 unit was the most effective this week. One day when I was still doing 3.0 units he suddenly dipped to 38! Followed all the protocols and the next day he was back to hovering in the 300's.
Should I try a different insulin? Which one?
Thanks!
