I received Methyl B-12 now what?

I received the Methyl B-12 5000mcg capsules today for Baxter. I ordered it from Vitacost.
I am not sure how much I am suppose to give. If any one is using this I would love your advice.
Also, it is safe for cats right? I have read lots of aticles that say it is.....just checking.

Dose 3-5 milligrams 2x per day. 5 milligrams = 5,000 micrograms.

I think it would depend on the severity of the neuropathy
My Shakespeare had REALLY bad neuropathy where he could only walk barely a step or 2
but I started 5 pills a day...3 in the moring and 2 at night...(they can give loose stool but since insulin can constipate, it works great!)
I might start with 2 a day and work up if needed.....depending on the severity
