My boy, Walter, is three and was just diagnosed not even a week ago. In retrospect, I saw the symptoms earlier and am now kicking myself for not getting him to the veterinarian sooner. I am really struggling to get him to eat wet food. The vet said to go ahead and let him eat his regular food for now (Science Diet Perfect Weight) but to put wet food out for him. He has an appetite in the morning, not his usual appetite, but he does eat some. He begs for lunch meat and bacon, (not that he gets it) but will NOT eat the wet food. Because he is being so finicky and not eating what I put out for him, I mixed the canned food with some water and put it in a syringe and made him eat some. He hates that and I hate doing it, but he must have something in his stomach especially when he gets his insulin. Please, please, please give me some suggestions to make that wet food irresistible.
