~O) Happy Monday all,
Chicken's AMPS was 232. I fed 1/2 can FF and shot 2.5 units. I don't know what I was thinking?? ohmygod_smile When I shot I was thinking 332 not 232.
After I realized what I had done I fed her another 1/2 can of FF. She seems fine and spent time sleeping with me in the living room (something she never does) and then she wanted to go out on the back porch. I let her go because I have the DH home all week ohmygod_smile and he is doing "projects" haha_smiley all around the house. So far that has been a lot of noise and ruckus. Yesterday I could tell that she was a little high because of being scared. On top of that I got home late from Church and her test and shot was 1 hour late. I had to ask the DH to please stop and take a break so that I could shoot her. She was so scared of the noise that she could barely eat and as soon as she finished she hid in the closet and I had to drag her out for her shot. Today I was going to be gone at 6+ however after what I have done with the dose I'm going to try and rearrange things and be here for a 6+ if I can get her out for one. Depends on the noise level around here.
In the past I have been called a stick in the mud because I hate the 4th of July! I hate the fireworks and Im really dreading Thursday. New Years Eve and 4th of July - I hate em both! No two worse days for my animals! The drooler is going to bark all day and night and I will not be able to get any sleep. I-) I am hoping for rain all day! grumpy_cat
It was very sad over the weekend to hear of the passing of another PZI member Baxter. His mama bean made a very moving tribute to him that I watched with tears flowing. o:-) Also another loss of a new member over in Lantis Land of Bubba. May their spirits fly free.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

It's easy to do, Terri, when you are used to seeing the 300s. It would be good to get a number before you leave and then somewhere midcycle. And leave some food out? With all the stress and noise, she will likely be higher than she might have.

After you are reassured, be sure to celebrate a little. Nice amps!!!

Terri,
Oh I SO SO agree with the holidays! I HATE FIREWORKS! We live in the country - people come out here, literally park in the middle of our road and start shooting. They don't even live nearby, they don't try to find a safe place, they just see a nice clean road and set up. Our neighborhood animals are lots of rescues - many shot at before they were found....it terrifies them. We're blessed with usually 2-4 new animals every holiday - runaways from other homes...

Be safe CL!!! HUGS Terri!!!

White noise - ex fans - can help mask some of the fireworks sound, though not all.

With enough lead time, systematic desensitization can be done to overcome the stress from the explosions.

:YMHUG: Chicken! Noise scares cats big time, at least mine are afraid of it. Thunder scares Simon but not as bad as fireworks do. bcatrun_gif cat_pet_icon

Hugs for you too...don't worry about the dose. I am sure it was fine and maybe even was good for him.
