This morning I forgot to give Callie her insulin. Things were hectic. I ftested and fed her and filled the syringe. I somehow got sidetracked and it was almost noon before I noticed it was setting on the card table that I use for Callie. I didn't want to have to change her shot time till midnight, so I gave her half of her dose because I didn't wa t her to be without. Her BG was 335 at 1. Did I do the right thing?

I can't believe I did something so stupid after more than 3 years with an extra sweet Callie. What should I do if I somehow do this again in my old age?

How many hours past shot time did you give 1/2 the dose.

Skip the shot altogether, call it a fur shot.

When I look at the SS I can't see any BG data????
Have you got some current data, in order to give you more useful advice, could do with seeing her numbers, dose etc.
 
I gave her the half dose 5 hours late. I sure hope I don't repeat this goof.

I'm having problems with my spreadsheet. I will ask for help in proper forum.
 
Since I'm 79, I thought it was due to my old age. After all these years, Callie's treatment has been routine. I had a repairman coming over and got distracted. I felt so sorry for her. She has been a trooper with testing, shots and special food.

It happens, don't beat yourself up. We all have our moments.

I'm not sure what to suggest regarding tonight's shot, without the numbers I don't feel comfortable being able to offer you any sensible advice.
 
My thought is to skip the PM shot and get back on track in the morning. With shooting 5 hours late, there's no easy way to get back on track. Unfortunately, given how long-lasting Lantus is, you really can't shoot a portion of the dose late and then get back on schedule at the next shot. You end up with overlapping nadirs which can cause numbers to drop.
