I found a sharp shard of plastic in Friskies Salmon...

I don't want to induce panic, though feel compelled to share: I just wanted to let everyone know that yesterday I found a sharp shard of plastic in a can of Friskies Salmon. I called Purina, the woman there apologized (but was somewhat callous and wasn't concerned) and asked me for some information (including UPC, lot number), and is sending a mailer as they'd like to examine the particle I found. I told her that before I realized it, my cats had already ate some of it (including Gobbles)... I'm concerned that there was more than one piece in the can....

I just googled "purina plastic food" and interestingly enough, found a few postings from people who found blue plastic in purina fancy feast food. The plastic I found was blue as well - http://petfoodtalk.com/catfoodreviews/fancy-feast/

My cat doesn't keep that variety down but that is worrisome- plastic can cut just as much as glass.

Take pictures of all before you mail it so you have proof if anything does happen.

The blue plastic was also found in Fancy Feast ocean whitefish and Fancy Feast Tender Beef, so this may not be just variety-afflicated. I called Purina back just now, infuriated, and told them they will be getting pictures only, at this point. They are sending me an email with a link.
