I really just don't understand catabetes!! How does Ham have such low numbers this morning and 12 hours later be in the 300's. I am convinced there is no rime or reason. It's a game of "haha don't think so" He gets the same food, the same insulin, the same water the only thing that is always changing is his numbers. This is literally the most frustrating thing ever.

He's bouncing - ie., overreacting to the lows of last night. The body can react to lows by mobilizing a stored form of glucose and dumping it into the bloodstream as a protective mechanism. However this process often overshoots and the BG goes high for varying lengths of time afterward.

Thanks Kris that's helpful... you would think by now I would understand that. I guess today was the wrong day to do a curve then... oops to late lol

That's the problem with curves, especially in a bouncing kitty. The scattering of tests at different times over many days is a much better indicator.

With Nigel I was on the verge of doing PowerPoint slide shows when I showed my vet his numbers and curves. Noah's numbers must be where the word chaos came from. He eats, I test and scratch my head.

See as I am following TR Ham would be due for an increase in the morning... since we had some green numbers I'm not sure if I should go ahead with the increase or wait another cycle or two?

I'd try the increase. All data is good data. If he surprises you with a lime green number you can go back down.
