i took Timber to the vet tonight and the tech showed me how to do a BG test. i was able to do it myself and now feel like i'm prepared to do his curve at home tomorrow!

AND- he's gained nearly a pound (.9 lb) in the 9 days he's been on insulin!! i knew he seemed less "boney" when i pet him!!

so, i'm hopeful this all goes well tomorrow!!

thanks to all of you for your support, information, and advice!!! :-D :-D :-D

Hopefully your kitty will stay cooperative. Frog has been waffling back and forth between ok with it, and "oh god, not you again!"

no doubt! Timber is generally a VERY laid back cat, but this is the first time i've been poking his ear to make it bleed! i hope he doesn't get fed up with it!

Congrats on the first successful test!!! :-D :-D You are lucky Timber is laid back - If he likes low carb treats, you might have one of the cats that actually comes to be tested. I can finally test comfortably, but the stress of finding/catching my kitty to test takes a toll =( But, if I compare today to the beginning of April, we have improved in that area also!

Happy Wednesday!

Treats will help. My Chester knows the phrase "Test and Treat" and will come trotting over to the couch. He's also a very laid back guy, so he took to testing pretty easily. His only issue is shaking off the blood drop - all over me!

GREAT JOB! Welcome to the Vampire Club!

Give him a couple of weeks, he'll be coming when he hears the case zipper/meter beep/shaking strip container....heck, KT even comes to me when it's shot time! Let me be a few minutes late, he starts really bugging me!

BIG HUG! YARD DANCE TOO! Yard Dance - a dance too BIG to do inside without wrecking the house!
