I am home! And so glad to be back.

Everyone survived my absence and seems well. I think things are a little out of balanced with Cami as my older sister, who has experience with PZI only, shot larger doses than I would have and shot even when she couldn't get a BG number a few times, but Cami got all her other meds as Rx'd and that may have been more important. My younger sister is her now and has not been free-feeding them because 'Cami eats everyone's food". She has dogs so could never free-feed her cats and is not used to the concept. Cami is not too happy with this. But she was 177 this morning and that is good. I have to update her SS with numbers from when I was gone.

But all in all, things seem to have gone well and there were no health emergencies while I was gone.

I am exhausted. I drove 1500 miles in three days and then got on a plane that got in at 11:30pm last night. Its going to take a while to recover!

I did get to meet Marcy and Craig yesterday. That was cool. They met me and my mom at a BK near the airport (and Marcy, I then got a bit lost getting back to the car rental place.... ). I have a great photo my mom took of us that I will post here, probably tomorrow. I got so many great photos of mountains and landscapes in CO, WY, ID, OR, NV and UT that I will try to select a few to share also.

Good to be home.

Welcome back!!
I worried about you finding your way back to Pena. I'm glad you didn't miss your flight. It was great meeting you and your mom. I can't wait to see not only the picture of us, but also the scenery pictures.

I'm sure Cami will settle down quickly, now that her momma is home. :-D

Thanks, Marcy. What happened was that getting back on I70 at that point put us east of the beginning of the Pena exit, so I got off at Rte 40 and then onto side streets. Luckily I had studied the Google map the night before for the way using Tower Rd. and driving around I somehow ended up on Tower Rd and was able to get where I needed to be (back on Pena).

We did almost miss the flight because the Budget shuttle driver forgot to make the drop off at our terminal and had to go all the way out and back around. That took another 15-18 mins and by the time we got to check in the computer said it was too late to check our bags. Then they tried to put us on a later flight getting in at 1:15am and I said no way. So she said we could carry on our luggage and we headed for security. They must have 10 security lanes but only 4 were open. We had 14 mins and still had to get through. When we got to the gate the attendant said we would have to check the bags, which we were fine with and they didn't even charge us for them. I think we were the last on the plane and we had barely sat down when they pushed back. I was so glad to get on that flight with our bags checked and get home.

Good to hear you two had safe travels :-D

Cami will be happy to have you back and in the drivers seat

Gone are the days of running through the airport like OJ Simpson! Last time I did that, my best friend's husband made the flight, and my sister drove his luggage up 2 weeks later! I've been that person that wasn't even buckled in as the plane was backing out.

Glad you made all your connections, even if it meant flying through the airport carrying all your bags. And I know that feeling when they want you to wait, and it's several hours later (or a day) that they want you to accept. They tried to get Grayson and me to come back to the airport on the day after Christmas instead of our flight on Christmas night. I was like "ARE YOU KIDDING???!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT TOOK TO GET US HERE???!!!" Needless to say, we got on the flight. Clearly the person who thought that was a good idea had never traveled with an on-board pet!

And glad everyone is good after your time away. How lucky you are that your sisters sit for you! And nice that you were able to see Marcy while you were there!

Welcome home!

Oh wow, Sheila, that must have been stressful - finding your way back to Pena and the extra trip because of the bus driver! ohmygod_smile
I'll have to remember this in case I meet up with any other FDMB members.

Have you gone through your pictures yet? Can't wait to see them.
Marcy

Marcy, I am still going through my photos. I love digital cameras - you can take as many as you can get on your memory card and not worry about wasting film and developing costs - but I have almost 2000 photos!

It is taking me much longer than I thought it would, but I am a perfectionist and I am cropping and "stitching" together panoramic shots...

They will be posted soon!
