Have a cat (not diabetic) that needs to be on a hypoallergenic/anti inflammatory diet. Vet prescribes the prescription diet (of course). Has anyone had to deal with this and found alternative to prescription food that is also low in carbs for diabetics? I have 2 diabetics and would be great to get them on the same food.

What is the condition being treated?
Have food allergy blood tests been conducted?

Stomatitis and rhinitis. Vet is thinking possible food issue causing inflammation. Gave steroid injections which helped reduce inflammation but I'd like to find a food.
I have not done the allergy testing yet. My vet charges $300 for blood testing and I have a friend who ordered a kit for $45 that does a cheek swab. Not sure which to do.

This is not an area I know about at all but remi was given the option of a hypo allergenic diet or a novel protein diet but that was for IBD so not sure if you are after the same sort of thing. I would go with BJM advice and join that group
