Hypericum or Ledum?

Has anybody ever used Hypericum or Ledum to treat a wound? I have both and am tending toward Ledum but am not sure how to use it. Not sure if it should be given orally or topically. I tried all day to get my civvie in a carrier to go to the emergency vet. He tore me up pretty bad so I have given up. He is active and eating but uncomfortable as the wound is on his back near his tail.

The hypericum with which I am familiar is St John's Wort.

Is it actively bleeding?

Infected? Pus oozing?

Is there a flap of skin?

Are you able to gently wash the wound with warm water? (No isopropyl alcohol nor peroxide; they sting/burn and may impede wound healing)

Have you got a humane trap? If not, can you borrow one?

A largish thick blanket might work to envelop him into a bundle you could get into a larger carrier and transport that way.

Your vet might give you a mild sedative for him, it that could help.

It is scabbing and not pussy or oozing. I am sure that it is itching. It was almost completly healed before I went on vacation but it seems to have taken a step back. I know that I read in Michelle Bernard's book that she uses Ledum for wounds but she doesn't elaborate how. I have heard of people diluting it in water and putting it on declawed paws and it is good for humans to take for insect bites because it heals outward. I borrowed a trap but he was afraid of it. I am hoping that isolation will keep him still and the healing will get back on track. If not, I will have to get him to the vet, somehow. He will have to have a lampshade put around his neck and he won't be a good patient for that.
