Human UTI strips work on cats?

Does anyone know if getting those human UTI test strips and testing kitties urine for a UTI work? Not sure if it's the same mumbo jumbo they search for is the same in humans and in cats :)

good question breayle....don't know the answer. i did'nt even know there were urinary track infection strips for humans! thought they had to use the old microscope..
are you talking about keto stix for sugar and ketone readings?
 
Nope UTI sticks, we have em at my work they test for some certain strain of bacteria that means you've got a UTI. I would love to have those around if they work just in case!
 
no, they won't work for a kitty.

remember, the accurate way to test a cat for UTI is having a cystocentesis performed ( to get a sterile sample). A U/A should be done and a C & S to confirm infection and to determine which AB should be used.
